ASR Learning Centre
With the constant stream of young people ASR Learning Centre was established to
1. Decrease the number of NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) Young People by engaging them in the Foundation Learning Programme.
2. Decrease the number of Youth Un-employment by allowing learners to complete the level 2 Youth Work course which will enable them to apply for employment at one of our projects.
The ASR Team have been working in the Community for over 5 years, through a variety of different programs and organisations. Our passion to support Young People and the Community has lead us to take a step further by purchasing a new building which will be used as a drop in centre, Youth Sessions, Foundation Learning Centre, Adult Education Classes, Advice and Guidance Sessions and Mentoring Sessions.
The ASR Team consists of, a full-time professional youth worker, a team of qualified part-time workers and a large, diverse voluntary staff, under the governance of a voluntary
management committee.
Through our Foundation Learning Programme we aim to enable all participants to re-enter mainstream education as a stronger learner or prepare the learners with skills to get
back into employment.
The Vocational Subject we specialise in, is Youth Work. Through this teaching we will engage and empower the learners with the skills to become a Volunteer or a Youth
Support Worker in the Youth Sessions.
The Accredited Qualification does not just progress the Learner towards Youth Work, but expands the opportunities for them, the participants will learn about life skills,
strengthen and enhance existing skills and abilities and ultimately become Young Leaders and Role Models for the Future.
Within the Centre we will be delivering a wide range of accredited courses from Entry Level 1 to Level 2. Our staff are from professional Youth Work backgrounds along with Qualified
Teachers. The Vocational Accredited Course that we will be delivering is Youth Work, from Level 1 to Level 3. Each learner also has the potential of going through work experience
or even be employed through either one of many of our organisations and projects that are delivered in Luton.
The whole element of delivering Youth Work as a Vocational Course has been carefully thought out to have a positive impact on the learner, the Centre will also be used as Youth
Club where the learner can progress onto as a Volunteer for work experience and then ultimately be employed after they have completed the course.
ASR Learning Centre will….
provide nationally recognised accredited training and real experience in working with young people.
Increase the number of young people into youth and community training to increase participation of young people in running youth programmes, community projects and
decision making.
